crew

Ask for a network in plain words

A crew of AI agents takes your request, plans the work, runs the engine’s tools and tells you what it did. It never writes a number into the design.

Who does what

  • The crew plans, checks the inputs and explains the result.
  • The engine makes every number: each change is a tool call that takes ids and rule references, and solvers and rule checkers do the rest.
  • You approve the risky steps. Routing outside ducts, adding a trench, rewinding the design and exporting for construction are refused without your click.

AI engines

  • Design automatically: no language model at all, offline and free.
  • Ollama: the crew on a local model. Free, and nothing leaves your computer.
  • Your own Claude, Codex, OpenRouter or OpenAI-compatible account. You pay your provider; openFTTH charges nothing.

What a run costs

A full crew run on the Manchester (Chorlton) field-test area through Claude took 147 seconds from request to bill of quantities, splice schedule and GeoPackage, for about US$0.20 in model usage. Design automatically and Ollama cost nothing.

The MCP link

Turn on the MCP link in Settings and your own AI tools can call the same engine tools at http://127.0.0.1:3920/mcp. It is off by default and stays on your machine.
